[Verse 1] God sent down an angel with a soul full of fire, To help one in need and let greatness perspire. Some say this is folklore, I wish when in strife, But I've witnessed the greatness of this gift on my life. The shine of this angel so kind in his ways, He's likely been influencing with kindness for days. For elder his intuition, intelligence of mass, The people that struggle he will not let pass. [Verse 2] Well in struggle and hardship possibly fright, His kindness creeps from the day into night. The guilt we feel and the questions we ask, Why kindness seeps from those rather than those with a mask? Those who deserve, or owe up favors to God, Because of sin they shall help out their neighbors. But no, not this man — unselfish he bleeds, The kindness he shares, he spreads like new seeds. [Chorus] He touches the souls of those with dull knives, Weighted with pain as they support their kids and wives. He puts himself out to better their lives, Most ungrateful, and others can't see, The protector that God has blessed this man to be. [Verse 3] No ignorance nor anger when you look through his pain, The glass crystal clear with fight yet remains. Why a man in uncertain times shall God pick, To help a man lost in rhyme with nothing to give, Nothing left but his time? The question will echo with feelings of guilt, To accept the generosity clearly thrown uphill. [Verse 4] The efforts shown by this man alone, To have such unsettling times yet still throw one a bone, Is rare, unearthly, unheard of, quite frankly unseen. But why this man, he owes not, and currently in tough times. It may seem why the Lord shall pick the ones at such times, To help heal others while they've just lost their rhymes. [Chorus] He touches the souls of those with dull knives, Weighted with pain as they support their kids and wives. He puts himself out to better their lives, Most ungrateful, and others can't see, The protector that God has blessed this man to be. [Bridge] Go figure this riddle like an off-tune fiddle — why? Why the responsibility of greatness when one feels little? A path seems to crumble and a new trail breaks, The path forward to help a man full of earthquakes. It's hard to accept help when it seems, I'm on a dead end highway. [Outro] One man can change life's color and tone, With actions during uncertainty within darkness himself, Blessing another with his hard work and wealth. To weep with happiness, guilt or shame, Is a question never answered and always to remain. And with all but a name, he helped my life flow, Like wind in the mane of a horse, With strength he fueled my fire.
